About Festival of African Cuisine
The UK Food industry is worth over £150 Billion yearly. Of this, the Takeaway industry alone is worth £12 billion yearly. That includes Chinese, Indian and Japanese food which constitute the biggest takeaway foods. The market for Street Food is now worth an estimated £1.2
The success of non-British food in the UK is testament to the adventurous disposition of British Foodies. And it is worthy of note that London is the capital in the UK and Europe.
Needless to say, London also has the largest population of Africans in
the UK and in Europe because it is the colonial home to the 19 African
members of the Commonwealth.
Composed of over 30 African countries selling their local African cuisine
at a reputable venue in central London

Our Vision
The Vision is to make African Food the next big thing in the UK Food space and at the same time to increasethe custom by Africans.
In other words, we are targeting the mainstream without losing the African Food loving community.
Nigerian-born Adejoké Bakare made the transition from avid home cook to restaurant owner in a matter of months when she won the Brixton Kitchen Competition in 2019 and opened the first iteration of Chishuru.
Since then, she’s fast built a reputation as one of London’s boldest chefs thanks to her unique style of West African cookery, influenced by the contrasting food traditions of her parents, and has been rewarded with a Michelin star at Chishuru.
